Leigh Griffiths is delighted to be back on the pitch and he aims to make the Paradise atmosphere count against Nomme Kalju

LEIGH Griffiths marked his competitive return to action in last Wednesday’s 2-1 UEFA Champions League qualifying win over FK Sarajevo. His second-half substitute appearance was his first game at Paradise since Celtic’s 5-1 victory over Kilmarnock on December 8 last year.

The 28-year-old came on for Odsonne Edouard in the 79th minute and was greeted with a wonderful reception from the Celtic fans in the stadium and he’s hoping to mark tonight’s (Wednesday’s) second qualifying round first leg tie against Nomme Kalju with another winning scoreline to take to Estonia for next Tuesday’s second leg.

The striker said: “It’s going to be a difficult game. We need to make the home advantage count. We need to play positively, play on the front foot and try to take a sizeable lead over there. Away legs are always difficult but we have enough quality in the squad over two legs to get through.”
