Celtic’s previous Scottish Cup games in the capital against Hibernian

CELTIC travel to Easter Road this Saturday to play Hibernian in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals and this will be the eighth time the clubs have met in the tournament at the Leith ground.
Brendan Rodgers’ side go into the game on the back of victories over Airdrie and St Johnstone in the previous rounds, while Hibs reached the latest stage having defeated Elgin City and Raith Rovers.
Here, we look back at Celtic’s previous Scottish Cup games at the home of Edinburgh’s green and white side.
1 December 29, 1894 Hibernian 0-2 Celtic
Although it states above that this weekend sees the eighth meeting between the sides in the Scottish Cup at Easter Road, it could actually be nine as the very first meeting, on December 15, 1894 was declared void, one of many in the competition that season, and the official game went ahead a fortnight later. Hibernian actually won the void game 2-0, but the Celts then recorded the same scoreline in their favour when they returned two weeks later. Despite the clubs sharing very similar backgrounds and foundations, this new date was the first time they had played each other officially in competitive action and goals from John Divers and Dan Doyle, both former Hibs players, gave Celtic the 2-0 win.
2 April 6, 1907 Hibernian 0-0 Celtic
