Embiid Continues Domination Of Rookie Class

Simply stated, Joel Embiid is crushing it in the race for Rookie of the Year honors.

As of mid-January, the seven-footer is averaging almost twice as many points per game than any other freshman with 19.7 and his 7.7 rebounds a night are also tops among his peers. If he keeps it up, he will easily be named the best of the class and his Rookie Cards from 2014-15 are bound to continue rising as the season goes on.

However, the Philadelphia 76ers are still a team looking to find its way. Their 13-26 record as the half-way point of the season approached demonstrates that the team is no longer a dismal basement dweller, but they still have a long way to go before becoming a playoff contender. Should Ben Simmons return in 2016-17, we could get a taste of what is to come, but it should be noted that Dario Saric has also proven to be a great addition to the lineup and was second in points and rebounds per game behind Embiid.
