DJI has always been at the heart of innovations. Apart from their wide portfolio of professional drones, the company has been known for their handheld stabilisers for smartphones. The Osmo Mobile series has garnered quite a fanfare, and we have got our hands on their latest iteration, the DJI OM 5.

Design & Build Quality
Unlike most similar products currently available, the device comes with a telescopic extension rod that provides much more freedom while shooting top-down and pan-up footages. The rod extends the gimbal by up to 215 mm and the pivot angle can be adjusted up to 90 degrees. The gimbal has a sturdy polycarbonate construction with a foldable design. Once folded, it can be locked in place and kept in the supplied pouch. The control panel includes a Shutter/Record button, a Switch button, a circular joystick, a multifunction (M) button and a trigger, which are all easily accessible while operating the stabiliser. In addition to these buttons, the device includes a status LED and three battery indicators. A counterweight can be added via the M3 x 0.5 screw hole in case you use a microphone or another accessory on the phone. A standard ¼-inch tripod receptacle at the base of the handle allows you to attach the supplied compact tripod. The gimbal is available in Sunset White and Athens Grey colours.

Let's see how this new baby performs...
