The countach is back!

Celebrates 50 Years Of The Iconic Supercar

They say that a sports car shaves years off an owner’s age. I don’t own one but the Lamborghini Countach shaves off so many years. It brings me straight back to my 16-year-old self.

Every teenager in the 80s had a poster of a Countach plastered on their bedroom wall. It has been—and always will be—the most iconic supercar of all time.

And now, in celebration of the 50th year of the Countach’s world debut in 1971, Lamborghini is unleashing a new limited edition Countach—a homage that embodies the still-incredible attributes of the original while boasting cutting edge technologies that enable it to deliver the sensational performance expected of a legend.

But while the original Countach was referred to as LP 400 and LP 500, the new one will be the LPI 800-4—the “800” referring to the car’s rounded-off 814cv of power (and “4” for the new car’s all-wheel-drive). Only 112 units will be made—the number referring to the code “LP 112” internal designation of the car when it was being developed. And yes, all 112 units have been spoken for, with customer deliveries beginning next year.
