Russian forces ‘pulling back to be re-equipped'

RUSSIAN military units retreating from northern Ukraine after suffering heavy losses will need “significant” re-equipping before they can be redeployed to attack the east of the country, British defence chiefs said today.
Vladimir Putin is reported to be moving tens of thousands of troops to try to seize more territory in the Donbas region after his plan for a lightning invasion to seize Kyiv within days failed.
However, in its latest briefing, the Ministry of Defence said: “Many Russian units withdrawing from northern Ukraine are likely to require significant re-equipping and refurbishment before being available to redeploy for operations in the east.”
