Jamie's weight insult spurs Sarries retaliation

A MUNSTER medic poking fun at Jamie George’s weight sparked an old fashioned bust-up at Allianz Park.
The 50th minute incident saw George react angrily before players from both sides became embroiled in a mass scuffle on the touchline, which finished with Owen Farrell being penalised for rushing in to join the fray.
Saracens coach Alex Sanderson said: “Their doctor said something derogatory to Jamie about his weight, which didn’t go down too well.”
Farrell’s punishment seemed harsh given that the Saracens skipper was not alone, but when JJ Hanrahan pushed the penalty wide, squandering a chance for Munster to stretch their 6-3 lead to 9-3, the reigning champions went from lacklustre to galvanised.
A last quarter surge saw Mako Vunipola’s try nine minutes from time give Saracens the overall edge in this double-header by denying Munster a losing bonus point to match the one the reigning champions secured at Thomond Park last weekend.
