U'S SURGE BACK TO TOP SPOT
The Non-League Football Paper

SUTTON United held their nerve – and kept local pride in tact – as they leapt back to the top of the National League on Tuesday night.

NATIONAL LEAGUE
Matt Gray’s men edged past Surrey neighbours Woking 3-2 at Gander Green Lane to reclaim their place at the summit by a point with three games to play.
Goalscoring centre-back Louis John gave the U’s the perfect start with the opening inside five minutes, but Woking – looking to halt a run of eight successive defeats – were soon level through Charlie Cooper’s penalty following a handball.
The Cards, who knocked Sutton out of the FA Trophy earlier this term, made life difficult for their rivals but the U’s did find a way through on 52 minutes through Donovan Wilson’s fine effort outside the box.
David Ajiboye wrapped it up with a thunderous third six minutes later but after a nervy finale, sparked by Joe Leslie’s goal back for Woking with three minutes to play, Sutton saw it out.
While the U’s marched on, the Hatters lost ground as third-placed
