JACOB Bancroft proved Oxford City’s inspiration as they came from two goals down to beat Haringey Borough.

With the Isthmian League currently suspended, the visitors lined up for their first match since their third-round victory over National League South leaders Dartford in mid-December, a distant contrast to the Hoops who were playing their fourth match in the past two weeks.

Borough certainly didn’t show any signs of the prolonged break affecting them as they took a tenth-minute lead. City failed to clear their lines foll that fell to Claudiu Vilcu on the edge of the box, who was able to loft his effort into the back of the net.

The Hoops tried to find an immediate equaliser, with Zac McEachran looking the most likely source, but he was only able to fire straight at Jonathan Miles.
