GLOVERS TURN TO ROCKETMAN
The Non-League Football Paper
|March 08, 2020
MARC RICHARDS’ second-half rocket at Crabble might well have set Yeovil’s promotion push back on track.
The experienced campaigner collected Courtney Duffus’ lay-off from 20 yards and crashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner to give the Glovers a vital three points at fellow play-off rivals Dover.
A winless run of six league games at the start of 2020 had threatened to fizzle out the Glovers’ faltering campaign, but back-to-back wins seems to have relit the Somerset side’s season, firing Darren Sarll’s side up to third in the table as the promotion race hots up.
“We were terrific today, especially the second half,” said the victorious manager.
“I thought we would need to go on and get that second, but on reflection we showed real power and our goalkeeper was not really troubled a great deal.
