Proximity to the palace aside, one doesn’t exactly expect to see the Duchess of Cambridge sipping wine spritzers at a pub in Kensington, London. The same goes for Meghan Markle, the American born TV star who’s widely expected to become England’s next new princess. Perhaps that’s why, on a quiet weeknight in February, Kate and Meghan, both 35, were able to treat themselves to a low-key girls’ night out without attracting any attention whatsoever. As a palace insider explains, “It seems no one thought to take a closer look at them as they snuck in — who’d have thought in a million years that those two lasses would be at a pub?”

Yet there they were. According to the insider, Kate had arranged the tête-àtête in order to get to know Meghan, her likely future sister-in-law, better — and in a less formal setting than the palace. Mission very much accomplished: By the end of the evening — which the insider says stretched till 1 a.m.! —Meghan had confessed to Kate that she’s so in love with Prince Harry, 32, she’d have his baby tomorrow if she could! “Meghan told Kate that, as far as she’s concerned, they should start trying [to conceive] as soon as they’ve announced their engagement,” the insider reports.

“She’s got baby fever!” Of course she knows that, if they’re successful, they’ll risk whispers about a shotgun wedding.

But it seems clear that she doesn’t care!
