Nadia Reid tours at home before recording her third album in the US.
Success has been a double-edged sword for Kiwi folk singer/songwriter Nadia Reid. The critical acclaim showered on her first two albums – especially last year’s Preservation – led to long, lonely tours through the US and Europe.
But, she says, that isolation has been exactly what she needed to kick-start the creative process for a third full-lengther.
From the outside, the past 12 months have seemed a watershed for the Port Chalmers 26-year-old, as she went from solo gigs at home to high-profile sessions on BBC radio and a performance on the late-night television show Later … with Jools Holland, where she shared the stage with Liam Gallagher, LCD Soundsystem and Jimmy Webb.
