THE NINTH EDITION OF ART BENGALURU OFFERS DIVERSE PERSPECTIVES ON CRUCIAL CONTEMPORARY ISSUES
A commentary on urban decay and the power of nature, Dutch artist Daan Oude Elferink’s 26x12 work ‘Garden of Eden’ offers a dramatic entryway into the 9th edition of Art Bengaluru, an eclectic cornucopia of over 150 artworks by 21 artists from across the country, on till November 30 at the luxury mall UB City. The rustic renditions of tree barks and kaleidoscopic images of streets might appear unlikely companions for Louis Vuitton and Burberry showrooms, but curator Abhishek Naidu believes this juxtaposition affords everyone—not just connoisseurs—the opportunity to “experience art at an accessible scale”.
