This month, after deleting live dates from my diary because of Covid-19, I have instead been working on some country projects via the internet. One of the benefits of remote sessions is that you can do as many takes as you like – after all, the only person whose time you’re taking up is your own. It’s certainly been fun layering up guitars, using all the gear I’ve accumulated over the years. While the obvious choice for country music is the Telecaster (I used my refinished 1967 Sunburst), it’s also given me the chance to record with my newly assembled ‘Partscaster’ ’64 Strat.
