I was in my late 20s when my mum first took me to the bingo.

‘I’m not sure it’s for me,’ I told her, as we arrived at the local bingo hall.

Didn’t think I was your usual bingo player.

But I was surprised to see people of all ages gathered around the tables, chatting, laughing together.

And after a few games I was loving it.

‘You were right,’ I smiled to my mum.

After that it was something we did together.

We loved everything about it, the social atmosphere particularly.

So when I was flicking through Pick Me Up! magazine in summer 2014 and I spotted an ad for Pick Me Up! Bingo I thought…

I thought it wouldn’t have the same atmosphere as the halls – but I was wrong.
