THE WELSH CHAMPIONSHIPS has been a stepping-stone to some stellar careers. Flex Lewis won his first-ever contest as a junior in 2003 at the Welsh and his mentor, Neil Hill, tasted success as a junior and senior at the event.

Now Jamie Do Rego’s is making his mark. Do Rego took the junior and overall Welsh titles in 2015 and in September this year he won the under-90 kg light-heavyweight category with his best look to date.
