For nearly a decade, Katie Holmes has had primary custody of her daughter, Suri – with friends revealing to New Idea the pair are close as a result.

Katie is credited with masterminding an escape from the Church of Scientology in a bid to keep Suri from its clutches – despite the fact her ex-husband and Suri’s father, Tom Cruise, is a force to be reckoned with in the controversial organisation.

But now, with Suri about to come of age, Katie’s Scientology-free world could soon come crashing down around her!

Insiders close to the family tell New Idea that Tom, who Katie married in 2006 and subsequently divorced in 2012, has been angling for a face-to-face reunion – and Suri is all for it!

Even though Suri, who turns 16 in April, and Tom, 59, have regular phone and video calls, it’s been almost 10 years since the father-daughter duo were last seen together in public.
