Gaming, online or in front of a TV with your friends sitting next to you on a sofa, will always be fun for the current generation and those of the future.

Online Gaming- The Next Level

With the birth of a modern computer that doesn’t simply add and multiply numbers but can also perform a range of beautiful tasks (one such is Gaming), the gaming industry exploded. The industry went hand in hand with the parent tech industry. As processing and performing power of computers developed so did the games. Game developers started leaping their limitations, overcoming hurdles that did not allow their games to explore more than it could. As games evolved, simultaneously the gamer evolved, more obstructions and more tasks in a single game were desirable. For a very long time in the history, gamers competed with bots.Eventuallydevelopers realised that players competing against fellow humans is much more tactful entertainment than accomplishing victories over bots. Hence we entered the world of Online Gaming, where one was known by his alias and was respected for his gameplay.

The laws of networking and its capabilities led to an interactive environment where users at different nodes could connect with each other and perform tasks cumulatively. The origin of Online Gaming dates back to the era of MUD (Multi- User Dungeon), where the basic concepts of online gaming were defined. A MUD is basically an extra-real world where players are allowed to design their own virtual characters and compete against each other. MUDs weren’t always a game or simply fun oriented platforms, MUDs were also used for educational purposes. The development of MUDs could be dated back to 1978 when MUD1 was created, and hence is regarded as the Oldest Virtual World in existence.
