A TRIP TO DIAMOND CITY
Exhibit
|December 2019
As promised earlier, we’re back with the rest of our part in Hyundai’s Great India Drive.
-
Just to recap, we had started our journey from the world’s tallest statue - the Statue of Unity. Accompanying us through this journey is Muskaan Sethi, who’d not only be driving but also speaking to farmers and merchants alike. She also added a dash a glamour and a hint of fun to our overall journey with the Hyundai Venue. Our 150-kilometre journey from the Statue of Unity to Surat show us witness some great highways, bridges and people. All the ingredients needed to unite a vast and diverse country like India. On our way to the diamond city of India, we passed by cities like Bharuch, Ankleshwar and Kamrej before finally reaching our destination. It’s astonishing to see the kind of development which has sprung up in recent years. Especially in the state of Gujurat, which has seen huge developmental projects under the rule of former Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Praise must also go out to some of the eating joints or ‘Dhabas’, as they are popularly known, along the highway. Although some of us might’ve preferred a non-vegetarian meal on our trip, there was denying the fact that vegetarian food on offer was absolutely brilliant! There’s a certain charm when one’s parked next to the highway, having a delicious meal, its a major part of any journey. Just like the Venue, the food joints served a beautiful mixture of different cuisines from different parts of the country. That is to say that Venue, is a modern adaptation of what individuals in today’s world have come to expect of their vehicle.
