Rosie Paterson talks to the founder of MTArt–an award winning agency for visual artists–and Marylebone resident

Where have you been living during the lockdown?

I’ve been in London with my family, but we’re very fortunate—we’ve got a lovely home. We moved a few weeks before lockdown and the house came with the keys to Portman Square. It’s a very privileged set up.

You grew up on Île de Ré, off the west coast of France. What was that like?

It was the nicest way to grow up. I was always barefoot, running by the sea. Weirdly, there’s generally only one shop in the winter that’s open. This confinement is what I knew for 17 years in my downtime on that island.

When and why did you move to London?

I moved here when I was 19. I was told that if you study philosophy and history of art in France, you were likely to end up being a professor, but I wanted to be more active in the world of business and culture. I also left the island because I love learning from different people. That’s the biggest thing I get from London—it’s more diverse.
