How To Survive Summer Car Trips With Kids.

Whether you’re seasoned campers, cottagers, or intrepid city travellers, a long car ride is often necessary to reach your desired destination. As grown ups, we can appreciate that the sacrifice of a long and sometimes uncomfortable drive is necessary in order to reach that perfect Xanadu of summertime bliss. Children, however, are a different story. The old joke of endless whining “are we there yet?” is timeless for good reason: kids and lengthy car rides typically don’t mix.
But, don’t let your child’s disdain for the journey stop you from making those summertime memories! All it takes is a little preparation, research, and a few well-timed play breaks to ensure that your next long car ride doesn’t devolve into the place where sanity is lost, tears are shed, and vows of never ever doing this again are declared.
With this guide you’ll be ready to endure long (mostly pain-free) hours of driving in order to get to the much anticipated destination, while making a few fun family memories along the way. Let's go!
GETTING THE CAR 'TRAVEL READY'
There is potentially nothing worse than getting the car neatly packed, everything jammed in just so, only to have to unpack it all on the side of the road in order to find a clean pair of shorts or your child’s favourite toy. It can make a long trip seem infinitely longer and much more frustrating.
