Have you ever been frightened when fishing?
A Scott Padfield: I was night fishing between bushes, in a nice dark swim, when I had a mate sneak up on me with a ghost mask on. Believe you me, it would make anyone jump! He made up for it though, sleeping in his small one-nighter cheap Tesco’s tent with his feet sticking out the end…
A Adrian Reynolds: my uncle and friends used to fish the Stour near a wildlife park where you could often hear the lions roaring back in the 1950s. They managed to buy an old stuffed lion's head from a local secondhand shop, and one night, when a guy was fishing, they stuck it on a broom handle and pushed it through the bushes behind him. The noise made him turn round and, to their amusement, he screamed and leapt in the river!
