FIGHTING FOR SURVIVAL

NEW WILDLIFE

Serengeti II Sunday, BBC1 HD, 5.35pm

Mothers desperately protecting their offspring, jealous rivalries and the devastating effects of climate change are at the centre of the second season of BBC1’s Emmy-nominated wildlife series Serengeti.

The real-life drama plays out on the spectacular plains of Tanzania’s Serengeti as cameras once again take viewers into the heart of several animal families and continue the stories of some of those featured in the first series such as lioness Kali, elephant Nalla and baboon Bakari.

Narrated by Black Panther actor Lupita Nyong’o, the six-part series is directed and produced by John Downer, the man behind many of the BBC’s prestigious wildlife shows including the Spy in the Wild programmes.
