Sparks fly when the Doctor meets horror writer Mary Shelley
The Doctor has had memorable encounters with real-life writers over the years, with past adventures including Charles Dickens and Agatha Christie (see panel, right).
This week, Jodie Whittaker’s Time Lord comes across another famous author when she steps back in time to meet Mary Shelley in Switzerland on the night she was inspired to create Frankenstein.
The year is 1816 and the TARDIS lands at Villa Diodati, on the shores of Lake Geneva, at a moment that changed literary history forever.
