STORIZEN REVIEW
To be very honest, I am not a huge fan of poetry. But, the year 2020 made the impossible possible. I started reading Indian poetry, preferably modern poetry. This book came as a surprise to me. This week. I.e. May 2nd to May 8th is World Children's Book Week. And reading this book intended for children to inculcate poetry in the kids is a remarkable coincidence. In this book, what I love the most is the free flow of the words. I would recommend this book to every parent and poetry admirer.
As the title suggests, the book is intended for kids. But, for readers who want to start understanding and reading poetry from the basics, this book will be a great heads-up.
With offerings from sonnets in iambic pentameter, to limericks, acrostics, and villanelles, It's Time to Rhyme is the perfect introduction to the joys of poetry for readers of all ages.
The beauty of author Shobha's words in the poems is as sweet as ice cream. The easy and cool writing with thoughtful lines is a treat to read.
The colorful illustrations make the book reader desirable. A recommended book for young readers.
Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan is a children's author, poet, editor, and voice-over talent. She is also a former non-profit development professional who spent two decades as an advocate and fundraiser for persons with disabilities.
