You know the story by now. We pined for the return of the old-school shooter in an age where everything was trying to be COD. Then Duke Nukem Forever finally emerged and we realised that pining for the return of the old-school shooter was the worst idea ever and COD would be just fine thank you very much. Then, Wolfenstein: The New Order came along and we realised that, no, actually, we were right and old-school shooters where you dual-wield machine guns and mow down Nazis are awesome.

The thing is, no one was expecting Wolfenstein to be that good. It took us by surprise with its fantastic shooting, some great characters, and a story of unexpected quality.
