Between Marilyn Monroe and Sharon Stone, there was Kim Basinger. During the '80s and '90s, the model-turned-actress megawatt appeal would guarantee a hit at the box office.

After playing the sultry blonde bombshell in a string of films including 9½ Weeks, Batman, and Blind Date, Basinger became a household name. But just as Hollywood seemed to start taking the star seriously with her award-winning turn as Lynn Bracken in LA Confidential, she seemed to fade away from the spotlight.

During her first interview in over a decade, Basinger bravely shared details of her secret "really horrible" health battle that left her a virtual prisoner in her own home. "I wouldn't leave the house [for years]," the 68-year-old actress confessed during a candid chat on Red Table Talk on April 27, revealing she had suffered from agoraphobia.

The medical condition is a type of anxiety disorder that leaves the sufferer unable to go about their daily lives due to a debilitating fear of having a panic attack in a public venue. The star was unable to perform even the simplest daily tasks.
