DAYS'S BELLE TO JOHN: PULL THE PLUG ON MARLENA

John and Belle find themselves at major emotional odds over how to move forward with Marlenas care when Belle produces her mothers advance directive, stating that Marlena doesnt want to be kept alive by extraordinary measures.

John, who’s desperately holding out hope that Marlena will come back to them, insists Belle sweep the paperwork under the rug.

“The unbelievable is happening,” says Drake Hogestyn (John). “That was my take on about three solid weeks [of filming this]. It’s a really heavy place to be in. Marlena is in a deep coma, which is irreversible. All the experts have come in and said, ‘There’s nothing we can do. We can keep her on life support ... keep her on the ventilator. But that is it. It’s the end.’ John’s like, ‘What do you mean this is the end?’ He refuses to give up hope.”
