In 2009, Jennifer Aniston was four years removed from her split with Brad Pitt — who’d left her for his Mr. & Mrs. Smith costar Angelina Jolie — when she made a shocking declaration. “I really do hope [I’ll eventually rebuild a relationship with Brad],” she said, and “that we’ll be good friends again at some point.”

It may have taken a decade — one that included another marriage and divorce for each of them — but the Friends alum has made good on her goal — and then some. According to an OK! source, Jen, 50, and Brad, 55, recently reconnected over a series of secret — and intimate — texts, and have even linked up for several reunions, including one very romantic French getaway. “Jen’s always loved Brad,” explains the source, “and she’s overjoyed that they’ve secretly reunited and are now planning a new future together.”

FRESH START

While Jen and Brad’s reps deny they’ve rekindled their romance, the source insists that things have gotten hot and heavy between the pair in recent weeks — and that it all began shortly after her 50th birthday bash this past February, where Brad was a surprise guest. “Everyone was shocked that he was there. But Jen was the one who’d invited him, and she was over the moon that he actually showed up,” a pal said at the time, adding that the pair were seen hugging and chatting throughout the night. “They had such a nice time. It reminded them of what they once had.”
