As Selena Gomez shakes out her glorious mane, it’s easy to see how those famous locks scored a rumoured $3 million-per-year contract with Pantene. ‘I love my hair,’ the 24-year-old beauty admits. ‘I definitely think it’s my staple piece. It’s something that makes me feel like me.’ So it was a huge shock when Selena recently cropped away her long black tresses, switching to a long chestnut bob after years of #mermaidhair – part of a reinvention that has been slowly building since last year. Selena showed off her new hairdo at last month’s MET Gala, but the hottest talking point was the new man on her arm – Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye!

The pair have been inseparable ever since they first stepped out as a couple in January. In March, Abel took Selena to meet his family in Toronto, while Selena’s mum Mandy Teefy has also given her stamp of approval, tweeting, ‘Mama is happy.’

Still, Selena is reluctant to open up too much about her romance with the 27-year-old muso. ‘Look, I love what I do, and I’m aware of how lucky I am,’ she says. ‘But, how can I say this without sounding weird? I just really can’t wait for people to forget about me.’
