After years as an absentee dad, Tom’s righting his wrongs – much to Katie’s despair

NW has learnt that Suri’s dad Tom Cruise is eager to become an active part of his youngest child’s life now that she’s approaching her impressionable teens.

“Tom’s really starting to regret the years he’s wasted not being there for Suri,” an insider says of the actor, who – aside from a five-day trip to London with her in July last year – has reportedly spent next to no time with Suri, 11, since September 2013.

“He’s missed out on so many milestones and he wants to start rebuilding his relationship with her before it’s too late.”

And it seems Tom is making his intentions known. Buzz is brewing that the father-of-three has already been in contact with Katie and Suri to plead his case, after breaking his ankle in two places while performing a stunt on the London set of Mission: Impossible 6
