Nama Group held its annual press conference on June 20, 2017. Eng. Omar bin Khalfan Al Wahaibi, CEO of Nama Group, highlighted various aspects of the group’s financial and operational results, and the most notable achievements covering; health and safety, customer service and service reliability.
Financial and operational results
Nama Group continued to record a growth in 2016 by enhancing the assets of transmission and distribution networks. The Group has increased its reach covering more customers and new geographic areas as a result of the new connections to serve all customers including – residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and government segments. The number of customers reached 1,074,608 in 2016, which is an increase of seven per cent compared to 2015. The units sold to customers increased by five per cent to 30,254 Gwh. Nama Group has also invested RO448mn in the electricity distribution and transmission networks compared to RO394mn in 2015.
