Development of an organised skilling sector will bear better results in terms of training and employment.
Handling the semi-skilled workforce in India is quite a challenge. We have the workforce, and we do talk about employment opportunities, but what we seriously lack is a ‘skilled’ workforce. Firstly, there is a long way to go as far as the government-run training institutes are concerned; public-private partnerships under the PMKRVY and other programmes of the Niti Ayog are yet to take off. Secondly, there is very little patience.
