Brisbane based inventors and long-time Harley enthusiasts Bruce Goodrick and Nev King have been marketing their WindbreakerCo windscreen conversions since 2014. The beginnings of the business came after Bruce was experiencing intense buffeting behind the windscreen of his Heritage Softail.

“It was so uncomfortable I used to take the screen off and ride without it. Then I tried a lot of different shapes of windscreen, screen extensions and clip on bits, but none really worked.”

“So out of desperation we decided we would design a solution ourselves,” added Nev.

“Collecting enough air to put behind the screen is crucial,” Bruce says.

What they came up with is a clever system that lifts the screen away from the fairing slightly and creates a gap under the lower edge. This allows air to flow uniformly under and behind the windscreen, equalising the pressure and eliminating the swirling and rolling air that buffets the rider’s head. Which significantly improves comfort and reduces fatigue. It also eliminates the expense of buying an additional windscreen, as it utilises original screen fitted to the bike. HEAVY DUTY have used this original design for the last twelve months with great success.
