Swedish startup Einride has unveiled a self-driving electric truck prototype, T-pod, to target longhaul transportation.
-
Lifting the lid on an ambitious new project to bring electrically powered driverless trucks to market, Swedish startup Einride has unveiled a self driving truck proto. Taking upon itself to present driverless technology, albiet in the form of a CV, Einride’s T-pod is claimed to be truly autonomous. A proto it may be, it is however looked upon as what can be achieved when it comes to CVs. Joining the likes of Volvo, Daimler, Scania, Tesla, Waymo and Uber among others in the race to build and market driverless CVs, the Einride T-pod differentiates itself from other projects on the same line by claiming to be truly autonomous. Alternatively remotely controlled by drivers, the T-pod is electrically propelled. To be supported by a remote driving system, charging stations and supporting infrastructure in an effort by the company to pioneer an entire ecosystem, the T-pod, aimed at achieving driverless long-haul transportation solutions, was unveiled at Almedalan, a week-long Swedish political event .
