Commercial Vehicle
|February 2019
After unveiling the new ICV platform under the brand name of Furio, Mahindra has commercially launched it.
By pricing the 14-tonne GVW Furio with a 19 feet HSD body at Rs.18.1 lakh ex-showroom Pune and a 12-tonne GVW variant with a 19 feet HSD body at Rs.17.45 lakh ex-showroom Pune, Mahindra & Mahindra has announced the commercial launch of its Furio ICV platform. Complementing the Blazo, Jayo, Optimo, Tourister and Comfio range of light, medium and heavy CVs from Mahindra Truck and Bus, the Furio ICV marks Group’s progress to a full range commercial vehicle player. To spring 21 models, five of which will be launched in the BSIV regime and the rest after the BSVI regime has come into force, the Furio, according to Dr. Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra, is a result of the focused efforts by the company over the past four years. Developed with an involvement of over 500 engineers and 180 suppliers, the truck platform was built with an investment of Rs.600 crores. Set to join the 22,000 Blazos that are out on the road, the Furio is made at the same facility that makes the Blazo at Chakan, Pune. It, in fact, shares the line with the Blazo. Riding on the guarantee philosophy of ‘Get More Profit or Give the Truck Back’, the Furio rides on the fact that not a single Blazo has come back, according to Dr. Goenka. It presents an unprecedented value proposition, he added. Of the opinion that the Furio reflects a serious commitment to the segment and confidence in the product, Dr. Goenka mentioned that it was designed by Pininfarina in close co-operation with
