BLACK-box insurance policies are meant to help young drivers secure affordable cover, but a mistake by one provider saw a teenager’s premiums soar.
Cheryl Crean from Cardiff took out a black-box policy with General Accident for her daughter, 18-year-old student Cydney, in January this year. But in April, mother and daughter were shocked when they received a series of E-mails saying Cydney had been speeding in her Fiat 500 on three separate occasions.
