EDITOR'S NOTE: We named this 'The Super Blue Blood Moon' Issue because the day we closed this issue for print the world witnessed the astrological phenomenon after 152 years. Rare, interesting and beautiful - much like our cover star Monica Dogra. Our cover star has risen to fame for being herself and projecting an authentic self. Dogra has shattered traditional perceptions of what it means to be a celebrity, but more importantly redefined what it means to be a modern American and South Asian woman - unafraid to be free and exhibit her VOICE. The ability for women to be themselves and speak up is pertinent today more than ever. The #MeToo and #TimesUp movements highlighted the dire need for creating environments where women can exist with no fear. In The Feminist Bros Who Let Us Down (page 80) we look at the scandals surrounding James Franco and Aziz Ansari’s misconduct and the magnitutde the problem. This issue seeks to highlight freedom and choice such as, Diplo’s choice to criticise Trump for threatening to stop aid to Pakistan. In this issue, we take through our glossy pages to New York City - the home of iconic symbols of freedom. Our cover story with Monica Dogra was shot in NYC along with our fashion editorial Lehngas On The Met. Nina Simone said that freedom was having no fear and we hope you walk away from this issue with a similar view point. Freedom should not be a partisan concern.
