We perceive the world literally in an aesthetic way. Through our senses, we see shapes and colours, forms and lines, brightness and darkness. These purely visual impressions reach our eyes as the starting point of the creation of deeper meaning. Shapes and colours fill our lives and ignite mental processes of significance. In this Artdoc Issue, we bring photographers who work with shapes, lines and colours to express emotions and stories in their photographs. Italian artist Noemi Comi uses alienating purple and turquoise colours to convey the mysterious tale of the Werewolves. Spanish photographer Andrés Gallardo Albajar photographed stunning architecture full of vibrant lines. In his series Urban Geometry, he documented dazzling cityscapes in many countries. British documentary photographer found colourful scenes in the sandy backyard of Saudi Arabia, telling human stories of the large, unknown country. In this issue, we also feature nine photographers who show their personal relation to colour and emotions. They demonstrate a great sensitivity to the wonderful world of aesthetic forms.
Artdoc Photography Magazine Description:
Artdoc is an international online magazine dedicated to the world of photography. The name Artdoc refers to our vision of art photography and documentary photography. In recent years, the two fields have merged, and contemporary photography is a blend of mirrors and windows. The art of photography is not limited to the aesthetics of the images themselves but encompasses the story behind them. Photography is the art that combines reality and vision, feeling and truth, psychological depth, and political awareness. Photography is a tool to communicate about the world that surrounds us and our feelings about it. Photography is the visual storytelling medium of our time, and it's deeply pervaded in the veins of our society and culture. Artdoc publishes engaging and high-quality portfolios of established and emerging photographers from all countries of all continents. The collections are accompanied by in-depth interviews with the published lens-based artists.
