This is an issue about women in music. All women in music – whether it’s the OGs of playback singing, classical music icons, women of Indian origin or regional stars. Why, one might ask? Why not! It’s about time these incredible artistes had a whole issue dedicated to them as they have been our companions through sickness, health, joy and sorrow. We reach out to music when words fail us. A song can illustrate that emotion buried deep in your heart; when tears fall, melodies soothe. The women on this cover are the soundtrack to our lives. Their songs play on the radio on the way to work. They’re singing to you through your headphones when you take the train or metro. You are dancing to them at weddings… or in the privacy of your shower. Our very own women in music – our superstars.
To supplement this theme, we also dove into the performance aspect of music. What are the tips, tricks and secrets of our stage artistes? How do artistes stay well and handle emergencies before big shows? How do they handle coughs, sore throats and period pains and still deliver their best? Click and read on!
