In this issue, we have focused on the freshly-minted Criminal Procedure (Identification) Act, 2022, which replaces the 102-year-old Identification of Prisoners Act, and bestows sweeping powers on the police force of the country.

The other important issues that we have looked into in detail are the rise in child labour and the deteriorating mental health of a large number of people due to the recurring waves of the Covid-19 pandemic. Both issues need to be addressed proactively for the greater good of the nation. Equally critical is the danger that India’s coastline is facing due to increased human activity and rising sea levels that threaten to inundate approximately 33% of coastal land.

On a brighter note, we have turned the spotlight on India’s rapidly expanding agri-tech start-up ecosystem. It’s hugely encouraging to note that most of the innovations in this sector are being led by young minds and entrepreneurs.

It’s this gap that Tatsat Chronicle intends to fill and carve out a niche.

The print magazine will have a monthly frequency, while the digital platform will be updated with news, analysis, opinion, insight, and blogs on a daily basis. Overall, Tatsat Chronicle will offer a deep dive into the rapidly evolving social sector space for a better understanding and appreciation of the work being done by various stakeholders towards creating a more equitable society. It will shine the spotlight on the most important issues that impact the social sector.

Objective

The main objective of Tatsat Chronicle is to inform, engage, and stimulate readers with ideas, case studies, and well-researched insight, covering the entire gamut of social sector activities in India.
