Highlights of India Today Tamil issue dated January 14th, 2014. 1. In this New Year special issue, the Cover story is a pakcage of what is cool for India in various fields. 3. The two page Guest column by Tamil writer Perumal Murugan about the new controversy surrounding his 'Madhorubhagan' that was published in 2010. The Tamil had drawn the ire of extreme right wing communal and caste organisations who brunt copies of hte book and also threatened the writer by making phone calls and visits to his home.

4. Anohter interesting column is about the big shift of audiences preference to small budgeted quality films from big budgeted glossy films, a trend which has deeply strengthened in 2014. ANd in 2015 the same trend is going to continue.
