May is a significant month for us here at Perspective: not only do we reveal the hotly-anticipated results of this year’s annual 40 Under 40 young talent recognition programme, but we also officially open the Call for Entry for our A&D Trophy Awards.

Formerly known as The Perspective Awards, the event has been re-named as it enters into its second decade, formalising what has become the region’s leading industry competition for the architecture, interiors and home product design sectors — see page 65 for full details.

It has also already been a significant year for Hong Kong, with the official unveiling of the new Innovation Tower at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, designed by Zaha Hadid (see page 16). And with the recent jam-packed calendar of arts (see page 73), the territory has definitely leapt into the international spotlight.
