Hello and welcome to the digital edition of T&D, as the year draws to a close and we enter the festive period we wish you and your family all the best and thank you for your support throughout 2022. We’ve got another cracking selection of trucks for you to enjoy.
Our Editor’s Choice is WH Malcolm’s stunning Scania R560 show truck, which showcases a number of bespoke modifications. Built to the highest of standards, the truck had previously worked hard pulling low loaders for the firm’s construction division.
Another impressive fleet flagship is the gorgeous blue Volvo FH16 750 from the rapidly expanding Lion’s Logistics. It’s a real head turner while also proving an excellent choice for the work they do. Another impressive FH16 is the final truck driven by the late Mick “The Beast” Goddard of TS Transport, who pay tribute to the hugely popular and much missed driver.
We’ve got a double helping of Renault Range-T High 520 Evolutions too, as we pay a visit to Barclay Transport in the Scottish Highlands and Wilson McCurdy Jnr in Northern Ireland. Both excellent examples of a truck that’s really come of age with the latest revisions.
Owner-drivers are the life blood of T&D and we’re delighted to have our Team T&D contributor Russell Oliver in the spotlight as he and his partner Louise have made the leap to running their own trucks successfully with a pair of smart Scania R450s. Hard graft but the rewards are there if you work for them.
Meanwhile we take a look at some fairground trucks along with a classic Scania 111, and Peter Davies opens up a new series “Then and Now” focussing on how some fleets have evolved over the years.
Not ony that there’s a truck racing update, a diary from Paul O’Callaghan’s latest Euro adventures and Cameron Allan returns to Team T&D. Paul’s also been to the epic Truckstar Assen show and we’ve got some cracking pics from there.
