Welcome to a brand new issue of Wedding Flowers & Accessories - and a brand new year, too!
I know January tends to get a lot of flak but personally, I love it. The start of a new year represents so many exciting things: it’s a tabula rasa, waiting to be filled with new adventures, memories, experiences... If you’re a bride-to-be on the countdown to her W-day, it’s even more exciting, of course – especially if 2018 is the year when you get to say ‘I do’ to the love of your life. In keeping with the fresh-beginning feel January brings with it so effortlessly, in this issue we’ve talked to three women who opted for the ultimate ‘something new’ after their weddings: a change in career! This entrepreneurial trio launched their own bridal businesses after they tied the knot - turn to pages 24-25 to see how, and why, they did it.
We’ve also scanned the runways to bring you an edit of the most wow-worthy 2018 wedding dresses, as well as found some thoroughly new ways to wear flowers on your W-day - move over, flower crown... Flick to our shiny new Style File section on page 7 to start browsing.
As well as your usual fix of beautiful flower inspiration and dazzling real wedding ideas, we’ve also asked some brilliant experts to share their tips for fuss-free, super-savvy wedding
planning. We’ve got an amazing roll-call of pros on-board: Alice Temperley MBE, Matt Porteous (who photographed Pippa Middleton’s wedding to James Matthews), royal cake-maker Fiona Cairns, Savile Row tailor Patrick Grant (he of Great British Sewing Bee fame) and so many more.
Head to page 28 to start reading their proverbial pearls and let the planning commence... Champagne optional, inspiration inevitable.
Whatever 2018 holds in store, let’s make it one to remember!
