EDITOR'S LETTER: Two of my most memorable Christmas holidays growing up opened my eyes to the juxtaposition offered by looking further afield to different seasons, climates and, of course, hemispheres. The first, a tropical escape to the Maldives, basking in winter sunshine, learning to scuba dive and falling in love with the Indian Ocean. The second, a more traditional festive fling to Lech, Austria, filled with Christmas, skiing, raclettes and snow. Both utterly magical, both totally different.
