Investigation after trees cut down

Plymouth City Council opened a planning enforcement case after trees, bushes, brambles and saplings were removed on private land next to Victoria Park.

The land, part of the North Stonehouse Conservation Area, had been earmarked for three buildings containing flats, but planning permission had lapsed and neighbouring residents were concerned about the removal of the trees. But the council has decided not to take action and said a protected tree is still in place.
