Part one of this session focuses on three of the eight functional stations for HYROX: rowing, burpees and lunges. While the burpees and lunges are static in this workout – rather than the burpee broad jumps and walking lunges of the main event – this workout will help build that all-important stamina needed ahead of race day.
The reps and calories start high so it’s not to be treated as a sprint workout in the fast half, but depending on how you’re feeling in the second half you can begin to push the pace once the reps reduce.
Part two of the session is a simple threshold run. HYROX is over 50% running, so it’s important to get your running fitness up.
