A place that she put her heart and soul into, actor Shama Sikander’s abode is a cocoon of style and class. Sneak in!
From the girl next door to a ravishing fashionista, actor Shama Sikander has come a long way since she made her entry into the world of television with Ye Meri Life Hai in 2003. The show made her a household name overnight and gave her instant fame. But, after all these years, the 35-year-old still has her feet fi rmly on the ground and the stunning aura that she carries effortlessly resonates in her beautiful Mumbai home.
Inspired by her mother, who was a décor enthusiast herself (she loved creating things on her own), Shama developed an early interest in crafting things. Her love for ‘happy’ colours goes back to her childhood days, and since then she has been fond of adding bits and pieces of those vibrant hues in every nook and corner of her home. While we can only stare at her home in awe, the interesting artifacts and the expansive décor collection have us sighing with envy.
Having poured her heart into her space, Shama explains: “I have designed my home on my own. Though I did take assistance from designers, they have only done the basic work while most of the adornments, from curation to execution, has been done by me. It took me six months to put it all together and this involved a lot of hard work. But I am pleased that my gamble paid off .” She had always wanted her home to reflect her personality and given her gregarious disposition, it’s not a surprise that Shama’s home too, is open and spacious. She elaborates, “Just one look at my house and you will be able to connect it with me. Everyone’s house reflects their temperament and it’s the same with mine—it is exactly like me.” The ubiquitous appeal that hovers all over her beautiful home is again something that takes us back to her personality.
