GOLF SHOWDOWN'S IN DOUBT: LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE NOISE

RORY McILROY reckons the Ryder Cup will be shelved this year – because players do not want a bun fight without fans there to see it.

The world No.1 is to lead Europe’s defence of the trophy at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin in September.

The 31-year-old said: “My personal hunch is I don’t see how it is going to happen, so I do not think that it will happen.
